Miami! That's where. Because Cuba.
I can't remember where I first read about it, but turns out there is a market for Lada parts in Miami. Really lots of Soviet car parts. They're purchased in the US by Cuban-Americans that then take them to their Cuban relatives when they visit.
Just came across !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and it reminded me about the whole thing. We'll probably end up sourcing our own parts from former Eastern Bloc countries so we don't end up paying a double middle-man premium.
